Mr. Leifer’s practice is a combination of litigation and transactional work in the real property area, concentrating most of his time in both residential and commercial landlord tenant work.

Previous Work

Mr. Leifer was a clerk with the Lawyers Committee on Civil Rights under the Law in 1974, and at attorney at the Fresno County Legal Services office from 1974 through 1980. He was a partner with Wild, Carter & Tipton from 1980 to July 1998, and a sole practitioner from 1998 to 2006. He joined the firm as a shareholder in 2006.

Community Involvement

Mr. Leifer is past president (2002-2003) and a proud member of the East Fresno Rotary club, has served as an area representative for Rotary District 5230 for two years and was the friendship chair for the District. He is also a past board member of the Make A Wish organization in Fresno. Mr. Leifer is a past member of the Fresno Philharmonic having played string bass in the orchestra in 1979 and 1980.

Mr. Leifer is the past president of the Fresno Apartment Association and has been on the board of the California Apartment Association (CAA) Advisory Board for Fresno. He is currently the co-chair of the CAA Legal Fund Committee, having also served on the legal forms committee and other committees of CAA.

Publications and Teaching

Mr. Leifer was the original co-author of the California Rental Housing Reference Book (“the Gold Book”), California Apartment Association, now published as Managing Rental Housing. In addition to the publication of articles on landlord tenant matters, he is a past lecturer California Continuing Education of the Bar for landlord tenant law classes and a lecturer for the California Apartment Association and Sterling Educational Services in the area of landlord tenant law, property management rules procedures and law and in the area of fair housing.
